Manic Monday

Today was Ben's first day of Spring Break and I had some plans for us....
 Disgusting, isn't it.
My mom and I started to redo it when she was here, but we got busy with more important projects and I knew with one of these....
Ben would help me finish the job!
Here's how she turned out- I'm VERY happy with it!
Ben found his old Book of Mormon from his missionary days and gave it to Brook- who was thrilled beyond words to finally have her very own Book of Mormon!!!
To finish off the day, we took a little trip down to Castle Rock to pick up a little something for me.....
AAAGGGHHHHH!!! I love it! I was so excited and we got a SCREAMIN' deal on it, which is almost as exciting to me as having the bike!! I just love good deals! We got an unexpected overage refund from our escrow account, so we split it and I got this and Ben is getting a bat... I'm totally getting the better end of that deal! Let's see his bat take him up that mountain trail!
Brook was sick of the garage by the end of the day ;)
Not Ellie- she had her trusty sidekick, "Bob-bob"

Sewing Is Fun

I made this shirt while I was home for Christmas following this amazing lady's tutorial- it was super simple and really fun to make! I made the skirt out of one of my dad's old button up shirts! I love the color of it! It was a bit of a challenge to get it right and it's still kinda funny, but I like it.
Don't mock my lack of posing skills!
Aunt Jo-ie (pronouced Jo-'E'- affectionately nicknamed by my two girls) and I found these cardigans at JC Penney right after Christmas for a buck each! They were originally $36 (outrageous!) and I actually got them completely for free because I had one of their amazing $10 off of $10 coupons!
They were quite hideous. All onlookers were skeptical that we could ever make them amount to anything. We had a vision though and we could not be deterred!!!

(this pose is for you Whit!!!)
 The after shots:

We think they turned out super cute!!!!
Bloopers:

It was a really fun afternoon! Come over and sew again soon, Aunt Jo-ie!!
