Trying Something New

You know how you get up the courage to try something new? Maybe it's wearing a little more jewelry or makeup than you usually do. Or tasting something that smells like it should never be eaten? Or maybe it's a new painting technique that you find at a paint store that seems like it should be adorable?

Today it was the paint technique..... it looks like someone peed on my daughter's wall in perfect 8 inch stripes.

It's called shadow striping. I used polyeurethane over light pink. It's going to stay and it looks okay, but the yellow is still showing.... anyways, just do a dark color if you want to do it and buy expensive polyeurethane!

Wow, I didn't realize potty training was going so well. I'm not sure you did it right...

sorry, I hate that too. I bet it looks better than you think.

Kaylynn did striping in her babies room, she did the same color but in different finishes, like eggshell and satin or something. It was a VERY subtle look, if I do stripes I will probably do a shade darker, so you can actually see all the work! But it was cool in the right light, because you could see the subtleties. Anyway, pretty much a nothing comment, just because :)
