Potty Training

**UPDATED** Thank you dear friends for your support! She just decided on Saturday that she was a big girl and hasn't had an accident since! Let's hope it stays! Thank you for your advice! It was all wonderful!

Oh My Gosh. I hate it. Seriously, why can't they just instinctively learn how to use the potty when they reach the age of two!?!?!??! We were doing so good for the first few days and now she has yet to actually do it right for the past two days. Nothing but wet pants. And some other pretty horrible situations. I am totally at my wits end with it! I feel so frustrated too because I KNOW she knows when she has to go now and she knows she should be doing it in the potty, but she just doesn't!!! Any tips from you other way better moms out there?

First of all, there aren't way better moms out there!! As for advice, I don't have any. Kai was easy, but he was older and I knew he was more than ready. The couple times he did have an accident he got a cold bath, which he wasn't a fan of, so maybe that would help? Also a lot of people I have heard have good success with just going cold turkey, no pull-ups or anything, just underwear, because the pullups still feel like diapers. Just a couple things, you may be doing them anyway! Sorry...it will get better!

You are a great mom!!!!! Don't give up!!!!! I did cold turkey, undies all the time, and lots of rewards when they do go potty, treats, stickers, whatever they are in to. Constant reminders about every 30 minutes, I swear for about the first month:( And when they make a mistake, be sad, not angry. They are more likley to respond to mommy being sad then angry. Being angry or getting a punishment doesn't fit the crime. It has to be learned to hold your "waste" in, and they will make mistakes. Be so happy when they do go and reward, reward, reward!!!! That's all I have to say, just don't give up!!!!!!!!

Oh man... I would have 50 kids if it weren't for potty training. That is my least favorite stage. My advice... don't stress. Yes, the cleanup is gross and a pain, but it is so much worse when you are upset. I agree with your friend above. Be sad, express your disappointment, but be positive. Ashton did so much better when I relaxed. I know that's hard to hear. It will come. In fact, if you aren't going anywhere. Take EVERYTHING off, and try to keep her to the floors that can mop up easy. I think my boys did best when they weren't cozy in their clothes. Maybe that's just boys. You are a wonderful mother, and so much more patient than me. I'm sure you will make it through! Good Luck!
